Privacy policy

Money Espresso collects only what it needs to send you the newsletter: your email address. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Money Espresso ("we", "us") is based in Malaysia.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you subscribe. You may also choose to give your name.
- Basic email activity, if enabled: whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. This helps us see which stories readers find useful.
- Basic website data, such as pages visited and the browser used, collected by our publishing platform to keep the site running and secure.
We don't collect payment details. Money Espresso is free.
How we use it
- To send you Morning Shot and Evening Shot, and the occasional note about the newsletter itself.
- To understand, in aggregate, which editions and stories are read, so we can improve them.
- To keep the site and mailing list secure and free of abuse.
We don't sell, rent or trade your personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Money Espresso is published on Ghost, which stores subscriber data and sends our emails on our behalf. Ghost and the providers it uses may store data on servers outside Malaysia. We share data with them only so they can provide this service. We may also disclose data if the law requires it.
Cookies
The website uses a small number of cookies, mainly to keep you signed in as a subscriber and to keep the site working. We don't use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address while you're subscribed. When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and delete or anonymise your data within a reasonable period, unless we need to keep it to meet a legal obligation.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe anytime with the link at the bottom of every email.
- Access or correct the personal data we hold about you.
- Withdraw consent or ask us to delete your data.
To make a request, email hello@moneyespresso.co. We'll respond within the time required by Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010.
Children
Money Espresso is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let subscribers know by email.
